I was playing with my gf and when she got off for the night we had just got to the third island, like a week after winter. But yes this strategy took a long time and was very tedious.Ĭlearly the devs are pushing people towards multi player which is something that I dislike and one of the reasons I play Kingdom is because in the past it was challenging but doable in single player.Ĭlearly the devs are pushing people towards multi player which is something that I dislike and one of the reasons I play Kingdom is because in the past it was challenging but doable in single player. Plus going back and forth to each island means that your walls don't erode as greatly. I would not destroy portals until all of my island kingdoms were at the same tech level which took forever but gave me the best chance of dealing with the huge retaliation spawns when I started taking our portals. The strategy you mention of going back and forth to all islands to upgrade them is something I use to do in all the previous dlc. I think they are just useless and not worth the coins to keep making them. In this campaign you can see much more the need of two monarchs to make it fun.įulano told me on my post about similar issues that perhaps my strategy for maintaining berserkers was that my kingdom economy was bad and suggested I build more farms if I can't afford to maintain them. I suppose You can fix this by travelling there after the first island and then coming back for the hermits, but that is way less fun and it would take several runs to prepare each island with towers to afford bigger and bigger waves.Īs regards berserks, they are weak and expensive, they become useless with the punch of a giant making blood moons even more difficult. This happened to me on my 2nd run, I could barely defend normal waves with my knights for a few days but I tried to expand a bit and destroyed a portal and that was the end (fifth island). Originally posted by AerialW360:Yeah I agree, Blood moons after day 50 are impossible when you have to get to another island and start again with 2 portals aggressively near your base at each side. How am I supposed to solve the puzzle, when I cant afford to maintain my own base because a bunch of crabs spawned in and smashed my entire camp, with the giants taking the rest? I could not possibly have gotten enough archers to deal with this, the shield wall wouldn't have stopped them, and i lost not because of poor management but because I literally could not perform as many actions as the game now requires. Norselands is poorly tuned and desperately needs fixing. How do you come back from that? Get there faster? Start over, with the same bull crap? Im not saying we need Norselands to be easy, but the nerfs on top of the new system makes the game just not enjoyable, and I paid EXTRA for this.ĮDIT: This comes after me and my gf got to island three, made it 5 days in and then got swept by 3 giants and 4 crabs. Two rulers shouldn't be a requirement to enjoy your only paid content, and atm it almost seems that way.ĭial it back a little. I mean, if they wanted the map to suck, and for it to become extremely hands on and difficult, they succeeded. So now you have to build out a base, return to both walls all the time to keep the vastly more powerful waves off your more brittle walls, constantly buying more troops because BY NECESSITY some of them are all but guaranteed to die constantly, giving up builders for beserkers requiring you to replace them more often then normal. I like a lot of this campaign, the new mounts are killer, but they dialed it up to 13 and tbh I'm not having as much fun because all that's been done is added difficulty and tedium, with no reward. This is exacerbated by needing to build out your base for efficient farm spawning and such. They die far too easy, the replacement of which severely hinders cash production, and you need to have them so you can check up on other walls. Not only do you HAVE to sit by your wall until the day is done, the catapult replacement (the berserkers) are far too expensive to maintain. I know its day one, and that there is more then likely to be some balance patches coming around, but there is just too much to manage. Took out my entire base on the first island and I had to spend an hour coming back up. I mean, its really really bad when you just start island three, and you have to replace your right wall because you cant babysit two walls with how hard the greed hit your base. Recent changes to how the waves of greed work, and the new super hands on waves for norse lands make it obscenely brutal to progress.
